Wow! The 3-Day Detox Smoothie Challenge is officially over and it was quite a challenge indeed! It was hosted by this Estonian company called ”Boost Yourself” and I think there were over 1k participants, which is pretty amazing! It’s really encouraging to know that you’re not in this alone and that the others are struggling with you.

I’ve done this before though – replaced most of my meals with smoothies for a month and it was pretty effective, I must say. I can’t remember how much weight I lost but it was quite a lot.

Anyway, I’m not going to torture myself this time. I have a few trips coming up and I know I won’t be able to have just smoothies all the time. Especially in France, which is famous for its croissants and macaroons or Italy for pizzas and pastas or Turkey for Turkish kebab. Yum! I can’t imagine myself missing out on all this! I’m already drooling, thinking about all this!

The detox itself went really well, it wasn’t that hard at all actually. The hardest part was probably when me and my girls were discussing the other day what we’re going to cook on the weekend and it made me super hungry! But other than that it went great and I’m really happy with the results.

Which goals did I set for myself?

My goal was to of course cleanse my body because I had had a moment of weakness just before and I had eaten like a pig for the past two days so I really needed that detox. I also wanted to boost my immune system with much needed vitamins and to feel fresh and energized again. I feel like I’ve accomplished all of that and in addition I feel so much lighter and happier. Of course I lost some weight too, which is always a bonus but that wasn’t my main goal going into this.

So, the idea was to replace every meal with a green smoothie for three days and that was actually my first time trying green smoothies. Honestly, the smoothies that I made were hands down one of the best ones I’ve ever had! Unbelievable! The great thing about this challenge is that you can actually start anytime, whenever you feel like you need an energy boost. I didn’t even drink any coffee while detoxing and I’m obsessed with coffee. I’m super proud of myself!

What next?

Now that the challenge is over, I’m definitely not going to stop. I’ll try to avoid coffee as much as I can, continue eating healthily and replace at least one meal a day with a delicious smoothie. I’ll leave a recipe for some of the smoothies that I made below, in case you’re interested in what ingredients I used.

  1. avocado smoothies is my favourite. I don’t know if I could do it though to live with smoothies only for 1 month. But these recipes looks so tempting.

  2. I love smoothies! I don’t think I could live on them alone for a month though as I would miss chewing 😛

  3. Okay, for some reason I have never been a fan of smoothies but I really love my fruits. Since I want change, I am going to challenge myself and try ALL of these. They look pretty good. Thanks for the post, i will be sure to share the feedback.
